It’s tough to go from expert ICU nurse to humble “I know nothing” SRNA.
 
It’s a transition that you don’t really get until you experience it.
 
You’re the top of your game in the ICU... you’re taking the sickest patients, you’re training new grads, precepting, charge..the whole shebang.
 
And then you enter the OR and you’re fumbling putting on gloves. You seem to drop everything, and you’re walking in circles just trying to find the locker room.
 
It’s a universal feeling that happens to us all. The most important thing? Remain humble, teachable, you DO have to activate that people pleaser side of you unfortunately.
 
These soft skills are the ones schools are trying to suss out. The brains? You got it. But ability to get along with others in high stakes situations? That’s a BIG part of what makes a successful student + CRNA.
