Superintelligence might be closer than most people think.
Sam Altman says we could be just a few years away from early versions of true superintelligence.

He’s suggested that by the end of 2028, more of the world’s intellectual capacity could exist inside data centers than outside of them.

In practical terms, that would mean AI systems collectively thinking, reasoning, and solving problems at a scale beyond all human experts combined.

Altman believes that at some point, superintelligence would outperform any CEO or scientist, not just in one niche task, but across most cognitive work.

If that becomes reality, decisions in medicine, energy, research, and business strategy could increasingly shift from humans to machines.

The real question isn’t whether AI keeps getting smarter. It’s whether we’re ready for a world where it might be smarter than all of us.
