Persistent has officially launched its $70 million Africa Climate Venture Builder Fund, achieving a massive $52 million first close. This fund is specifically designed to back the next generation of entrepreneurs driving the energy, agriculture, and resource transitions across the continent.
But Persistent is doing things differently. Alongside the $70M investment pot, they’ve launched a dedicated $5 million Venture Building Facility. This means startups don’t just get a check; they get a team of experts to help them build their business models, scale their technology, and manage their operations from day one.
By using a blended finance model to reduce risk for private investors, Persistent is aiming to mitigate 17 million tons of CO2 and create 60,000 direct jobs. This is the new standard for high-impact, hands-on climate investing in Africa.
