Not All Slabs Are Created Equal!

Every inspection reveals a unique story. This recent slab finish caught our attention and not for the right reasons.

 Key Observations:

Inadequate Compaction: Visible air pockets (honey combing)  suggesting insufficient vibration during pour.

Poor Edge Detailing: Rough and irregular edges that may compromise structural integrity. 

National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standard AS 2870 state that concrete slabs must be:

Properly Compacted: To eliminate air pockets and ensure durability.

Adequately Cured: Moist curing for a minimum of 7 days to achieve desired strength.

Finished to Standard: Smooth, level surfaces with well-defined edges to prevent future defects.

Neglecting these standards can lead to:

-Cracking and spalling
-Moisture ingress
-Compromised structural performance
