It's official: we're nominated for a Webby Award 🎉  But we need your help!

"What Dan Read" celebrates the life of Dan Pelzer, one of the library's most devoted readers. For more than 60 years, he kept a handwritten list of every book he read – 3,599 in total, nearly all of them borrowed from the library. When he died in 2025, his family encouraged people to "read a real page-turner" to honor Dan in lieu of flowers. We digitized his list to help the world explore the remarkable record of What Dan Read, and his story inspired millions.

Now, Dan Pelzer’s humble story is lining up against Katie Couric and Stacey Abrams – so we'll need EVERY vote we can muster.
