✨ Jibokjae, the royal library inside Gyeongbokgung Palace, is now open to the public!

Built during King Gojong’s reign, this elegant space once served as a quiet retreat for reading and reflection. The name “Jibokjae” means “a place that gathers precious books like jade.”

Now home to around 1,700 books (including translated titles), visitors can also bring and read their own books. It once held over 40,000 volumes 👀

With birdsong, open architecture, and a calm atmosphere, it’s one of the most peaceful spots you can find in Seoul 🌿

✨ 경복궁 안에 위치한 왕실 서재 ‘집옥재’가 일반에 개방됩니다!

고종 시기에 지어진 이 공간은 왕이 독서와 사색을 즐기던 조용한 서재였는데요. ‘집옥재’라는 이름도 “귀한 책을 옥처럼 모아둔 공간”이라는 의미를 담고 있습니다.

현재 약 1,700여 권의 도서를 갖추고 있으며, 개인 책을 가져와 읽는 것도 가능합니다. 과거에는 4만 권 이상의 장서를 보유했던 공간이기도 해요 👀

새소리와 바람이 흐르는 개방형 구조와 고즈넉한 분위기로, 서울에서 만날 수 있는 가장 평화로운 공간 중 하나입니다 🌿
