This is Tim. Tim worked on the summer staff at Fern during the mid-70’s and found an excellent mentor in Robert Downing. “It was because of him that I worked at Jasper Park Lodge, went to Guelph for the hotel program, and lastly the memories of great summers on Lake Couchiching” Tim said.

Tim is celebrating his upcoming birthday by walking 65 for 65. That’s 65 miles for his 65th birthday - An impressive way to ring in another trip around the sun! While preparing for the journey, Tim has been fundraising for the Orillia Youth Center and Participation House, Markham

The starting point for Tim’s 65 for 65 is The Thornhill Club on Friday, August 27th, with the walk ending at Fern Resort on Saturday, August 28th. Joining him throughout the 65-mile trek is the Fern Cottage Cup, which in Tim’s words “may have been taken inadvertently from Fern Resort in 1974 or 75” after a winning round on the Fern Five Golf Course.
