In “Desire From Symbols,” the two artists approach desire and symbolism from different directions.A dialogue between two visual languages:
desire and dream, surface and depth.

In my works, Hiromita meets the character 梦—
where symbols become a space to think, feel, and return inward.

迟宝绿’s works engage with consumer culture, branding, popular imagery, and the projection of collective desire. My works move through dreams, mythology, ancient scripts, and Hiromita to enter a more internal and psychological space.

Within curator Avy Yang’s framework, these two visual systems stand in contrast with one another:
one explores how desire is constructed in the external world, while the other asks how dreams and symbols can help us reconnect with an inner language of our own.

This reel shows a glimpse behind one of my Hiromita paintings for the exhibition.
