Happy AUTISM Awareness Month. 🧩🌟🫶
Today we feature Kyle and Our very popular Slithery Slithery series. This series asks students to pretend they’re a snake. Students choose where they go and what they see.

Everything we offer is with intention. Our 🐍 series supports creativity and imagination. The movement helps students to practice gliding their spine side to side for mobility. The Cobra (Bhujangasana) pose strengthens the back line of the body while stretching the front line. It also supports healthy digestion ~ something many of our students have challenges around. Our ‘SSSS’ breath relaxes us and helps the brain around rewiring behaviors. I place this series right before shavasana as a prep to help them settle into stillness and soothe the nervous system. There are way more benefits but that’s the jist!!👌🏽

🐍 Meet Kyle the Snake 🐍 Kyle has autism and is one of our newer students and he loves his yoga! We sing and move and breathe and at the end we douse ourselves with lavender EO and listen to Inner Peace by beautifulchorus while i give him compression squeezes. Most often we can’t get Kyle to rise up at the end. BIG WIN!! 🎶

The very best part is Kyle’s mom Karen does yoga with us ! Thank you Mom!! The co-regulation component is so dang important! Our sessions always welcome a caretaker or support staff to join. We value our caretakers and know how much they need care, movement and relaxation too. 🫶🫶🫶

I love you Kyle. I love your creativity and silliness and I love that you love yoga time with me.
