I rematriated 13 years ago, long before Oaxaca was popular with the desire to learn from my people and talk about the modern day Zapotec culture

Throughout the years that has manifested itself in learning about our ancestral food ways and sustainability practices 

I was 18 yrs old when I first asked my grandma to teach me how to use the metate

And just 6 years ago, I learned how to collect dried agave leaves to burn for fuel in tortilla making

It’s never too late to learn the ancestral knowledge of your people!
