Today we recognize World Autism Awareness Day—a day to celebrate inclusion, understanding, and the unique strengths of individuals on the autism spectrum. 💙 We see every day how sports create connection, confidence, and opportunity for athletes of all abilities.🌟 Athletes like Sara Parker, who’s been part of Special Olympics Florida since age 4, shortly after her autism diagnosis – when she was almost nonverbal and lacked fine motor skills. Today, she’s a college student, Athlete Leader, decorated rhythmic gymnast🤸🏼‍♂️ and the Vice Chairperson of our State Athlete Leadership Council. Sara’s story is just one reminder of what’s possible when everyone is given the opportunity to belong.🤝
