Dating a professional athlete is apparently a nightmare.⚽️ Dating one who is injured and out of contract is supposed to be hell on earth. 🥅Evidently I met regitfit henrikregitnig at his “lowest low”…after playing on teams like cpfc and avfcofficial (apparently they are a big deal?!) but receiving a massive hit…coming back from a near career ending injury and chronic pain was supposed to be impossible. But what people don’t tell you about true pro athletes is that their brain does not hear the word “impossible”. 

They hear: get up the FUCK UP AND TELL THEM WHO YOU ARE, get to the gym, phisyo 6 days a week, spend your life savings on traveling for treatments, going on try out after try out, miss out on holidays and anniversary’s, never take no for an answer, more gym, grow more, inch towards improvement,  prove them wrong, train with only the best themoderndaygk , do nothing else but drive in the direction of your dream. 

 I got to watch Henrik come from the bottom and today officially sign with vanfootballclub in the Canadian Premiere League. I’ve never been more proud of someone. I can’t talk about it without crying. I saw the literal years of work he put into getting back in the game. And to have the mindset it takes to do this made me fall in love with him more and more each day. I am so proud of you Henny and endlessly in awe of how you dedicate yourself to your craft. I cannot wait to watch you thrive. This is just the beginning of the greatest chapter you were always meant to live. Even though it means ending our Euro trip early….Vancouver, here I come! #athelte #vancouver #goalie 🏟️
