Linda Cardellini has opened up about how her portrayal of Velma in 'Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed' became a lesbian awakening for many fans.

Speaking to Gay Times, Cardellini said she had no idea the role, including the iconic scene where Velma wears a red lycra bodysuit, would have such a lasting impact. “You have no idea when you’re making anything what effect it will have on anybody, y’know?” she said. “I’m honoured!”
