USS Idaho crew members and spouses visited Gowen Field Friday. The group was welcomed by Idaho National Guard commander, Maj. Gen. Tim Donnellan, and Command Sgt. Maj. Alice Mapes. Afterward, they met with Army and Air Guard members from the 204th Regional Training Institute and the 124th Maintenance Group. The USS Idaho (SSN-799) is a Virginia-class fast-attack submarine under construction at General Dynamics Electric Boat shipyard in Groton, Conn. Its crew is known as a pre-commissioning unit until the submarine is commissioned as an operational ship. #ussidaho #idahonationalguard
