The Idaho Army National Guard conducted its inaugural tank gunnery with the newest version of the M1A2 tank Friday at the Orchard Combat Training Center. The 204th Regional Training Institute on Gowen Field has received a total of six M1A2 SEPv3 model tanks, which will be used to train both tank crews and maintainers who attend courses here. New in the SEPv3 upgrades are additional electrical power from an auxiliary power unit, network upgrades, stronger armor for greater protection, an ammo data link to interface with advanced ammunition and reduced maintenance strain. The new weapons systems highlight the Idaho National Guard’s focus on continuous improvement and dominance on the battlefield when called upon to defend American interests at home and abroad. #idahonationalguard #nationalguard #armynationalguard
