l’ve helped more than 25,000 women improve their energy, mood, cravings.

Here’s the hills I’ll die on:
1-The research is so clear: front loading your calories and eating more earlier in the day leads to more satiety and fewer calories eaten all day. Breakfast sets the tone.

2-A high glycemic meal can be made up of healthy foods like oatmeal, acai bowls, smoothies, etc. This will lead to a blood sugar spike within 1-2 hours which triggers energy crash, cravings, brain fog & mood swings. Overtime it accelerates aging, increases risk of heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease and cancer.

3-Protein is important but “eating more protein” is not a comprehensive strategy for improving blood sugar and insulin sensitivity. More is not always better if your body doesn’t need more. You need a healthy gut microbiome, which means feeding your microbes with fiber, polyphenols and prebiotics.

4-Variety in your diet is important for improving metabolic
health! More variety from fruits and vegetables = your body
digests, absorbs and metabolizes them in a way that can improve blood sugar through multiple mechanisms.

5-Drinking smoothies for lunch is the ultimate hack for afternoon energy! But not just any smoothie. I formulate smoothies with frozen cauliflower rice, the right ratio of protein to fruit, and lots of fiber for satiety.

6-Most of the supplements that your favorite influencers are pushing are a waste of money. I’m a big believer in supplements and have been recommending for 10+ years but random supplements are distractions.

7-It’s not just about what you eat. It’s about how you eat. I interviewed one of the leading nutrition researchers, Dr Sarah Berry who said: if you can decrease the speed that you eat by 20%, you can decrease your total food intake by 15% without even thinking about it.

I'd love to help you as a true expert in the nutrition field-not an Instagram influencer. Follow me on Instagram @beingbrigid for more guidance.
