#ExpediaAmbassador #TourismTasmaniaPartner #ad Hobart is one of expedia’s Destinations of the Year, and it’s easy to see why. Such a beautiful city, surrounded by nature, full of history, and home to an incredible food and art scene. It’s the perfect base for exploring tasmania— here’s how I’d spend my time there.

Things to do in Hobart:
 – Salamanca Market (Saturdays only)
 – Stroll around Battery Point and the waterfront
 – Eat well: Aloft, Ogee, Trophy Room, Bar Wa Izakaya, Pepina, Lucinda Wine Bar, Erda Cafe, and Pigeon Whole Bakers are all worth a visit
 – Visit MONA (and don’t skip lunch at Faro)
 – Sauna Boat Tasmania for a relaxing morning
 – Whisky tasting at Lark Distillery
 – Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to see kangaroos and local wildlife
 – Drive up Mount Wellington for sunset on a clear day

Easy day trips from Hobart:
 – Bruny Island for dramatic landscapes, fresh bread, oysters, and cheese
 – Maria Island to see wombats roaming freely
 – The Tasman Peninsula to go on a scenic cruise to Cape Raoul

If you’re venturing beyond Hobart, don’t miss these spots on Tasmania’s east coast:
 – Freycinet National Park for scenic hikes, fresh oysters, and unreal views
 – Bay of Fires offers some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. Truly stunning.

I’ve curated a collection of my favorite hotels in Tasmania: 3 stays in Hobart and 3 unique stays along the east coast for a road trip. All saved in my Tasmania Travel Shop on Expedia to help you plan your own Tassie adventure.

Are you ready to go?
