What does your calcium score really mean?

A CT Calcium Score measures calcium buildup in the arteries and can help identify potential signs of heart disease risk. While it does not diagnose coronary artery disease (CAD), it provides helpful information that you and your doctor can use to better understand your heart health.

Here is how calcium scores are generally interpreted:
> 0 to 100: Typically indicates little to mild calcium buildup
> 101 to 400: May suggest a moderate amount of calcium buildup
> Over 400: May suggest a higher level of calcium buildup and an increased likelihood of heart-related concerns

In general, a higher score can indicate a greater risk, but every patient’s situation is unique. Discussing your results with your healthcare provider is the best way to understand what your score means for you.

Find out your calcium score at AVALA for only $100 and take a proactive step toward understanding your heart health.
