For Women's History Month, we spotlight Dr. Temia Sibley, a lifelong educator and visionary leader, whose nearly two decades of service reflect an unwavering commitment to student success, educational access, and community development. 

She is also the founder and director of Destiny Preparatory Academy, where she leads programs focused on academic achievement, character development, and whole-child education. Through her leadership, countless students have gained access to supportive learning environments that foster confidence, growth, and long-term success.

A 2005 graduate of the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Education, Dr. Sibley carries forward a strong family legacy of Rattlers. Her grandfather, Willie Dorsey, was a respected educator who instilled in her the values of service, leadership, and academic excellence. While at FAMU, she discovered her passion for teaching and educational leadership, laying the foundation for a career focused on empowering students and supporting educators.

Dr. Sibley later earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida with honors and recently completed her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Florida, specializing in Teachers, Schools, and Society.

Throughout her career, she has served in a wide range of educational roles, including preschool director, childcare center owner, elementary school teacher, middle school testing coordinator, and elementary assistant principal. Her experience spans early childhood, elementary, and middle school education, allowing her to impact students at critical stages of development.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Sibley is a devoted wife and mother of three children. She balances family life and educational leadership with purpose and grace, serving as a role model for perseverance, compassion, and service.
