rutgers_pd and the RU–N Staff Council partnered with nps_camdenst for their 4th annual girls’ empowerment event, “Poised & Powerful: Reflections of Inner Beauty” 💐

With keynote remarks from chancellortonyasmithjackson (our fierce advocate who’s bringing energy, vision, and renewed spirit to our campus), inspiring words from NJ Senator Teresa Ruiz senmteresaruiz (the first Puerto Rican woman elected to the NJ State Senate, and she’s right here from #Newark), and emceed by Dr. Yolanda V. Jackson msbritefuture (who recently and successfully defended her dissertation #DrJackson), the day was all about confidence, self-love, and showing up as your best self.

Shoutout to our Newark community for always showing up 🤍 Special thanks to Camden Street School team, Newark Police Department, our incredible community leaders, RUPD Lieutenant Jamie Hendrix for leading these efforts, Izzy Mir-Merced runosll for DJ’ing the event, and Security Officer (The Queen herself) Vanessa Scott for making tutus for our tiniest princesses #Community
