Year one of school refusal I was doing everything wrong - not because I wasn’t trying, but because everyone I turned to had the same answer.

The psychologist. 
The school counsellor. 
The teachers. 
The GP.

“Push through.”
“Be firmer.”
“She’ll be fine once she’s there.”

The more we did what we were told, the worse it got.

Nobody told me her nervous system was in alarm. 
Nobody told me that every morning we forced was making it louder. 

Nobody handed me a roadmap.
So I built one. 

After 100+ missed days, years of trial and error, and a daughter who eventually made it to her first choice university - The School Refusal Recovery Toolkit is everything I wish existed in year one.
