Millions of UK drivers who were mis-sold car finance agreements will receive compensation this year, the regulator has said.
 
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said eligibility for compensation has been tightened, meaning 12.1 million agreements are now eligible for compensation - down from 14.2 million at the consultation stage.
 
But those who are, could get on average £829.
 
Consumers generally have six years to make a claim, but this could be extended where information about commission or a link was deliberately concealed, the FCA said.
