## Caption

In pursuit of a better life, Tori Andrews has leaned on faith and community support. Through both, she's gained the confidence to embrace and achieve what her heart really wants. The first time, it was sobriety.

Andrews joined the SAU Bachelor of Social Work program in 2020, eager to forge a career path that would allow her to use her experiences to help others. 

A passion for her education and support from professors has awarded her a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship and a Roy J. Carver scholarship for transfer students. Further faith and resolve led to her selection as one of four students awarded an inaugural McFarlin Scholarship. 

"I just feel like the right people have been placed in my life continually. I would think I couldn't do it and then there'd be someone offering support, and it reminds me that I am going to be OK.” 

Andrews plan to enroll in SAU's Master of Social Work program to gain the next level of education and hands-on experience to accomplish another thing her heart really wants: to help people on probation succeed.
