“Bad and Boujee” was released on October 28, 2016, as the lead single from Migos’ second studio album Culture on Quality Control/300 Entertainment/Atlantic Records, featuring Lil Uzi Vert and produced by Metro Boomin and Quavo. The track is built around a sparse, ominous trap instrumental anchored by a repetitive synth melody, dripping 808s, and the kind of minimalist production that Metro Boomin had by that point established as the definitive sound of Atlanta trap, leaving space for Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff to rotate through verses with their signature triplet flow while Uzi added a hook-adjacent energy to the record’s final stretch.
