Real ones know there’s two VW’s in this video

While the legendary Veyron and Chiron were born under the Volkswagen umbrella, the era of VW owning Bugatti outright has officially come to an end.

In late 2021, control of the brand shifted to a joint venture called Bugatti Rimac, placing the majority of the power in the hands of Croatian EV innovator Mate Rimac.

Volkswagen still maintains a significant tie to the marque through Porsche, which holds a 45% stake in this new hypercar partnership.

Recent developments in 2026 suggest even more independence is on the horizon, as Rimac explores buying out the remaining shares to take full control.

Are you interested in how this shift from German engineering to Rimac’s electric expertise is changing the performance of their latest models?
