❗️The Ford Mustang GTD may have just snatched the Nürburgring production car crown back from Chevrolet...

Based on recent footage and timing data from trackside observers in late March 2026, the Mustang GTD allegedly clocked a blistering lap of 6:41.74.

If this unofficial time is accurate, it would beat the Corvette ZR1X’s record of 6:49.27 by nearly eight seconds, making the Mustang the fastest American production car to ever lap the “Green Hell.”

The car spotted on track featured aggressive new aerodynamic upgrades, including rear aero discs and front canards, leading many to speculate this was a specialized “Evo” or “Nürburgring Edition” variant.
