It’s interesting how quickly women are made to feel like they need permission during pregnancy and birth.

Permission to do things.
Permission to say no.
Permission to say yes.
Permission to choose what feels right for their own body.

And somewhere along the way, it almost becomes normal to hand that over.

Not just the decisions…
but your intuition as well.

That quiet inner voice that usually guides you
slowly gets replaced with outside opinions.

What someone else thinks is best.
What you’ve been told is “right”.
What feels safer to follow.

Your body isn’t something that suddenly belongs to the system the moment you become pregnant.

You’re still you.
You still have autonomy.
You still have the final say.

Always.

It’s almost like we’re conditioned to hand over control…
at the exact moment we should be most connected to ourselves.

And I get it, there’s so much noise, so many opinions, so much “you should” and “you shouldn’t”.

But at the end of the day, no one is in your body but you.

Not your doctor.
Not the internet.
Not anyone else.

You.

And I think the more women realise that…
the more empowered their birth and pregnancy experience becomes.

Not perfect.
Not always exactly how planned.

 BUT YOURS.

So maybe the question isn’t
“am I allowed to do this?”

It’s:

“what actually feels right for me?”

have you ever felt like you needed permission during pregnancy or birth? 🤍
