Cesar Padron ’28 is following in his brothers’ footsteps while making Trinity his own.

After watching his older brothers attend Trinity, Cesar arrived with a sense of what to expect. Now, after experiencing it for himself, he says they were right about the opportunities, community, and support here.

His journey began with the Skyline Scholars Program, where he moved in early to start his First-Year Experience course, attend workshops, and connect with other students.

Since then, Cesar has found community through club basketball, the boxing club, the Trinity University Latino Association, and the Mexico, Americas, and Spain (MAS) program. He also serves as a resident assistant in the first-year area, helping new students feel welcome and supported.

Like his brothers, Cesar is majoring in biology, but the path he’s building is his own.

“There has been nothing else subject-wise in school which has interested me the same way,” he says. “I want to keep learning more about how the world and ourselves work, but more than that, I want to share that knowledge with others.”

With an education minor, he’s now considering a future in teaching and applying to Trinity’s Master of Arts in Teaching program.

“As I got older, I learned that education is one of the most powerful things anyone can have,” he says. “Unfortunately, it's something many people don't get access to.”

Now, Cesar understands what his brothers saw in Trinity.

“I have met amazing people who have shaped me into the person I am today,” he says. “I think it's an amazing place for anyone looking to work hard and become a better version of themselves.”
