Prime Video’s “The House of the Spirits,” which premieres globally on the streaming platform on April 29, is the first TV adaptation of renowned Chilean author Isabel Allende’s 1982 magical realism classic of the same name. In the trailer released on March 26, Mia Wallace and Dolores Fonzi can be seen as matriarch Clara del Valle, who has special powers, and Alfonso Herrera interprets violent patriarch Esteban Trueba, who finds himself at odds with his daughter Blanca and granddaughter Alba during political upheaval in Chile. 

In an exclusive interview with Elle, Eva Longoria, who is executive producer along with Allende, said: “Clara using her spiritual gifts to challenge social constructs for women, and then Blanca following her heart despite class barriers…The themes that Isabelle wrote about are timeless. And the fact that this book exploded worldwide is a testament to that.”
