In honor of the boys in Durham being named the @insidelacrosse Pre-Season #1, I figured I would #tbt to the 5 coolest @dukemlax related things I have done.

#5 was getting to take the teams from Reynolds High School on a VIP trip to practice at Duke and the see the Blue Devils beat Notre Dame last spring. The BBQ provided during the game was amazing.

#4 is getting the opportunity to sit at the feet of one of the coaching legends in our game and learn. The Duke coaches provide free coaching clinics and then archive them online for those who couldn't attended. It is always worth it and a highlight of my off season.

#3 as a lifelong Duke fan, getting to play at Duke was a dream that I never thought would happen. That changed in 2015. Albeit for a visiting team, but, it was still special for me. It definitely brought out the 10 year old in me.

#2 I have had some pretty cool opportunities that fell into my lap as @cardinallacrosse has grown. Perhaps the coolest was when @lacrossedotcom let me Snapchat the Duke/UNC game from the sidelines. Pretty tough to beat that experience.

#1 they say never meet your idols. Duke had been something I had dreamt of as far back as I could remember. Even though I grew up just a few miles from campus, I had never made it there. The week I got out of the Air Force in 2014, I made it a mission to see their NCAA game against (coincidentally) Air Force. I went 4 hours early and walked around campus just to soak it all in. I will never forget the feeling of that day. Duke won and went on to win its second straight NCAA Championship.
