⚾️: For Dominick Najar, arriving at Cal State East Bay meant stepping into a completely new environment and embracing everything that came with it. Coming from a small town, the opportunity to compete in the Bay Area while continuing his education marked an important step in his journey.
 
“I chose East Bay not only to continue my education, but because I always loved the Bay Area growing up,” Najar said. “Coming from a small town and having the opportunity to come out here to play baseball and go to school made it an easy decision for me and my family.”

Adjusting to college life brought its challenges. Being away from home and joining a team as one of the younger players required him to adapt quickly, both on and off the field.
 
“Coming to a university straight out of high school was difficult,” he said. “Being away from home and being one of the youngest guys on the team was not easy. But that is also what made my journey so meaningful.”
