In the film Interstellar, Romilly uses a simple visual to explain wormholes. He draws two distant points on a flat sheet of paper representing two-dimensional space. To travel between them normally, you must cross the entire distance. However, by folding the paper so the points touch and piercing them with a pen, he creates a shortcut. This demonstrates how a wormhole warps three-dimensional spacetime, connecting two far-off regions through a higher dimension to allow nearly instantaneous travel across the universe.
