Monaco showed resilience and quality to secure a top-10 finish, downing direct rival Barcelona 93-86. The visitors raced to a 0-8 lead and stayed ahead throughout the first quarter, which finished 18-26. A trio of scores from Elie Okobo brought Monaco closer, and the hosts edged in front, 46-44, at the interval. Quickfire triples from Kevin Punter helped Barca briefly back ahead, but Kevarrius Hayes scored seven points in a row and Monaco led 72-67 with 10 minutes left. An 11-2 run gave the hosts a double-digit lead, and five fast points from Dario Brizuela weren’t enough for Barca to come back.

A great collective effort saw six of Monaco’s eight available players score in double digits, led by Mike James and Okobo with 16 apiece. Matthew Strazel contributed 14 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds, while Jaron Blossomgame combined 13 points and 7 rebounds. Barca was led by an inspired Punter with 27 points, with Will Clyburn and Brizuela scoring 13 apiece. Monaco advances to the postseason with a 21-16 record, while Barca drops to 20-17 and will have to beat FC Bayern Munich at home next week to progress to the postseason.
