Mexican media is reporting that former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio could potentially face up to 20 years in prison following his reported April 6 arrest in San Luis Potosi on allegations of domestic violence against his wife Mary Carmen Rodriguez Lucero. Per Milenio, the baseline charge of violencia familiar carries one to seven years, while the harsher charge of Injuries Committed Against a Woman on the Basis of Her Gender carries eight to 20 years. Per La Razon de Mexico, a prior 2020 Texas case involving ex-partner Reyna Quintero was dismissed in December 2021 after the primary accuser did not appear to testify at trial. Del Rio is presumed innocent and has not been convicted of any crime.
