Artemis ii : Songs For The Moon (Day 1: Billie Holiday’s Space Legacy)

While Artemis ii is in space, ill be posting songs about the moon that have been sent into space starting with the tribute to billie Holiday (on her birthday !)

Billie Holiday’s 1944 recording of “I’ll Be Seeing You” was sent into deep space as the final transmissionto the NASA Opportunity rover on Mars in February 2019.

NASA engineers at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) sent the song as a symbolic “goodnight” across roughly 140 million miles of space.

After 15 years on Mars, the Opportunity rover’s mission officially ended following a severe dust storm.
