Watching soccer from a mile high up 👀 ⬇️

We keep on rolling with continental_tire, helping us on our journey to uncover the hidden gems of soccer across the US! Last year, they hooked us up with tires for all our vehicles, and they have gotten us to some amazing places. This latest one was no exception.

On mile 4,691 of our travels in 2026, we visited Denver, CO, to catch a game at the highest stadium ever used in the NWSL, and witness the Denver Summit make history. 

The newest team in women’s soccer broke the NWSL attendance record with 63,004 soccer fans turning up to Empower Field for their opening home game. And we figured the best way to take in such a momentous occasion was to climb to the very peak of the stadium and take it all in.

Sitting at 5,280ft above sea level, this venue is the second-highest stadium where pro soccer has been played in America. It is only beaten by Weidner Field down the road in Colorado Springs, used by the Switchbacks in USL. 

Still, the view of the Rockies from the top of Empower Field, plus the fervent supporters below was honestly one of the most breathtaking things we’ve seen on our soccer travels across the country. 

If you’re ever in Colorado you must definitely catch a Denver Summit match (but heads up they’ll be playing at other venues across the region this season) and hang out with the 14ers—the club’s supporters group. 

Hopefully there’s another chance to watch the Summit play at Mile High, though. Truly an incredible experience!!
