“Wait, aren’t we going to put more needles in my stomach?” ⬅️ This is the question that I get asked more often than not from new fertility patients. ➡️ My answer, “not today.”
✨ There’s a misconception that the only way acupuncture can benefit fertility is simply by bringing blood flow to the ovaries and uterus. ✨ Thankfully, there’s a lot more to it ✨Your treatment is dependant on why you’re experiencing fertility challenges (unexplained infertility, for example, is more often than not an issue of Liver Qi Stagnation). It’s dependant on where you are in your cycle (period, follicular phase, ovulation or luteal phase). It’s dependant on if you are undergoing fertility treatments at a fertility clinic (and any medications that you might be on) It’s dependant on pre-existing and current gynaecological issues (fibroids, endometriosis, pcos, DOR, thin endometrial lining, hypothalamic amenorrhea, etc). It’s dependant on your stress, your day-to-day, your health and family goals. It’s really dependant on you - and how you show up (and how YOU need acupuncture) on any given treatment day. ⚡️So while there are a lot of very important points on your stomach (I’ve included them on page 2 of my notes - categorized by menstrual phase importance) the important thing about acupuncture...is that it’s really about helping the body self-correct - for the best possible pregnancy. So really - you treat you - it’s just a matter of using an acupuncturist to stimulate the right points to help you get there. #youareunique #youcanheal
