This summer, I planned ahead. For the first time (since I was a single mum), I hired help - a nanny - to help me with the babies and the older girls (workbooks, park dates, baths...). I still did the laundry and the the groceries and the gardening and the cooking and the cleaning...but I got someone to help me so that I could put more focus into a big project // 🌿 PSA: stay tuned, the big reveal is in 2 weeks🌿. // I had someone to help me so that I could workout when I wanted to (instead of when I could coordinate the babies naps with the girls workbook session). But it didn’t work. It actually only lasted one week of the summer. Trust and Overwhelm. My believing in what I was being told...instead of ever questioning it (a pattern I still haven’t broken since becoming an “adult”). Lessons. Valuable lessons. // But more important than the lessons in HR (and my lack of HR skills), was that, I realized how much I actually like my kids. I always knew I loved them. But I actually really like them. They’re funny. Good little companions. They’re not obligations or responsibilities...they’re little lights in my life that motivate me when I’m feeling overwhelmed. They are my best teachers. My most fervent advocates. They are the reason I do anything...and the reason almost nothing gets done.  They are why I focus on fertility. // So even though, for the last two months, almost all of my work got completed between 8pm and 2am, I wouldn’t change this summer (and the lack of balance or relaxation). Because the lessons I learned - were just what I needed before they went back to school. #summer2019 #letsgototheex letsgototheex janecp
