#BreyersPartner Nothing beats a warm apple pie topped with a scoop of ice cream! I added Breyers French Vanilla ice cream, which really took it to the next level. It’s one of those desserts that brings everyone to the table and makes simple moments together a little sweeter. Grab your favorite Breyers ice cream and try the recipe below! @breyers #Breyers

Ingredients:
- 6 cups Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
- Water (enough to cover apples)
- 2 tsp lemon juice

Filling:
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- Pinch of cloves
- Pinch of salt
- 2 caps vanilla

Assembly:
- ½ stick butter, sliced
- Extra brown sugar (about a handful)
- 2 pie crusts

Egg Wash:
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp water

Directions:
- Prep the apples: Slice 6 cups of Granny Smith apples and place them in cold water with 2 tsp of lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Make the filling: Whisk together the brown sugar, white sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and vanilla until fully combined.
- Combine: Drain and thoroughly dry the apples, then toss them in the filling mixture until every slice is coated.
- Assemble the pie: Lay the first pie crust in your pie dish, add the apple mixture, dot the top with slices of butter, and sprinkle on the extra brown sugar.
- Top the pie: Place the second crust on top—either create a lattice or lay it whole and cut four vents (like the face of a clock at 12, 3, 6, and 9)—and crimp the edges to seal. Cover the crust edges with foil.
- Egg wash: Mix 1 egg yolk with 1 tsp of water and brush it over the top and center of the crust (not the edges).
- Bake: Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for 40 minutes with foil around the edges. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 20 minutes, or until the filling is actively bubbling in the center, the top crust is deeply golden brown, and the bottom crust is golden brown and firm. If the bottom crust looks pale or soft, continue baking in 5–10 minute increments until browned.
- Rest: Let the pie rest for at least 1.5 hours before slicing so the filling can set.
- Serve: Slice and top with Breyers French Vanilla Ice Cream!
