Answering the most common questions I get about culinary school! Let me know of any additional questions!

1. Program Overview:  I completed the Culinary Arts Essentials program @ecole_ducasse, founded by Chef Alain Ducasse (who held 21 Michelin stars across his restaurants). It’s a ~9 week intensive program with classes 5 days a week (~6–7 hours/day).

2. Class Structure: Every two weeks we rotated into a new module focused on different cuisines, techniques, and concepts. Each module ended with an exam, and the final exam was designing and executing a four-course menu. Each day the chef walks through the recipes at the start of class and then does a demo. You execute each dish at your own station while they provide 1:1 guidance. My cohort had 15 students from all over the world.

3. Application Process: You need to submit a completed application and supplemental forms, a few short essays, and an updated resume. After your materials are reviewed, the school will schedule an interview as the next step in the process.

4. Cost of Attendance: ~$15K USD for tuition and fees (housing and living expenses not included). Check the website for the latest numbers.

5. Language of Instruction: Programs are offered in both English and French. I completed the English program.
