A Heartfelt Thanks to Mr. Dan Baxter, His Team, and Vancouver - Consulate General of India

When we faced one of the toughest moments as a community, Mr. Dan Baxter and his team stepped up when others refused to help. Our local funeral services in Delta and Surrey not only turned us away but were incredibly rude, refusing to guide or assist during a time when support was most needed.
It’s disheartening to think that when families are grieving and vulnerable, they are left with no help from the very institutions that should be there for them. If we can’t provide compassion and guidance in such critical times, what are we really fighting for as a community? What is all our hard work, taxes, and years of contributions going towards?

Political parties often ask for our votes but fail to address such crucial issues. Families deserve respect and support when they need it most, not just empty promises.

In our moment of need, after countless calls for help, it was Mr. Dan Baxter and his team at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel & Crematorium who extended a hand. Their kindness, care, and professionalism are a shining example of how we should support each other as a community.

At the same time, I am deeply thankful to the Consulate General of India in Vancouver, especially Mr. Sanjeev Ji and Mr. Masakui Rungsung, for their incredible support. As per his promise, Sanjeev Ji ensured that all formalities were completed within an hour, making it possible to send my friend’s mother’s body back to India. Their commitment and efficiency provided immense relief during this challenging time.

Let’s remember the importance of helping those in need—because one day, we all may require the same compassion. Thank you, Mr. Dan Baxter, the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel team, and the Consulate General of India, Vancouver, for your unwavering support when no one else was there.
