I’m a failure as a mother and a wife — these were the words that kept repeating in my head. 

I was just playing with my toddler and he decided to get the puto that he calls MUFFIN (It’s rice flour bread with cheese on top, not coarse but actually really sticky). We were snugged in the sofa, I hugged him and closed my eyes, next thing I knew, I was asleep and got awaken by my husband calling my name. I was in shock — all the puto’s gone, it looked like my toddler had an idea to play with it as playdough — in the carpet. I was lost for words. 

I felt disappointed to myself — I shouldn’t have let myself nap. How irresponsible of me! How will I remove this? We cannot afford to replace the carpet. The puto’s deep in the carpet, very sticky and purple everywhere. 

I’m not the best cleaner in the world, not even a decent one, and I’m not proud of it. But I was just thinking I needed to get as much of the purple off of the carpet as possible then try to dissolve it with solutions before scrubbing it some more. 

All the trusty @bestcleaningnz products came in handy, and I also feel bad because I wanted to showcase their products aesthetically — in the best production level that I could. But honestly, this is the reality of being a mum. It’s not pretty, it’s not put together… but whatever works, works, right?! 

After more than an hour of scrubbing and almost feeling like I wanna throw up, I think I got most of it off. I will do another round tomorrow once I’ve assessed it again but it just put me and my husband in a sad mood tonight. I wish parenthood came with a manual — I wish it was as easy as how other creators show it to be. 

But yes, I feel like I failed my toddler tonight and I’m not proud of it.
