Do you look at yourself in the mirror and not recognize the image that you see?
Do you try to fit in your old clothes and feel ashamed knowing they won’t fit now?
Do you look back and wish that you are your old self, with your old physique, your old spark back?

Motherhood isn’t as glamorous as others portray it is…
And sometimes it’s hard not to compare — how does she do it all? Why can she look put together when I look like I have not bathed in days? How can she fit in her old clothes while my pooch doesn’t seem to want to go away no matter how hard I try?

I wish I know the answers — the voices in my head are most of the time louder than I wanted them to be. 

But then it dawned on me — I do not wish to go back to my old life, my old self, because giving birth to a beautiful human being healed all the wounds of the past. Gave me hope that life is still beautiful, that I can have another shot at life through their eyes, that my body is capable of nurturing a wonderful child. 

We all have different chapters in our lives — this might not be your best one, but your time will come. You will see your spark again, you do not need to be found — you are here. You need to be present. You need to acknowledge that what you see in the mirror may not be what the society’s standards deems most beautiful, but in the eyes of those who loves you so dearly, you are perfect just the way you are. 

You. Are. Wonderful. Momma.
