Today I gave blood with OneBlood here in Florida — not only as a community member, but as Chairman of the Board for the American Red Cross of Palm Beach and Treasure Coast.

It’s important for me to lead by example and to support the mission in every way I can — because blood donation saves lives, plain and simple.

A few powerful facts:
 • The American Red Cross provides about 40% of the nation’s blood supply.
 • It is also the nation’s leading provider of rare blood types, supporting patients with unique or hard-to-match needs.
 • Someone in the U.S. needs blood every 2 seconds.
 • One donation can save up to three lives.

Whether you donate through OneBlood, the Red Cross, or a local drive, you’re giving the gift of life. Blood can’t be made — it can only be given.

I give because I believe in showing up for my community — and because someone out there is counting on a stranger’s kindness.
