How to get the Highest Quality Reels 👇

4K + 24 FPS
Be sure to always shoot in 4K on your iPhone to get the highest quality video. There’s a lot of debate about 24 FPS vs 30 FPS for Instagram, but if you want to get the same cinematic feel as the movies, go 24 FPS.

AE / AF LOCK
Cinematic video keeps a locked off exposure. Tap and hold on your frame to lock in exposure and focus. This will keep your phone from shifting exposures and changing focus during filming.

TARGET BITRATE
When exporting videos from my computer, I always aim for 15mbps as my bitrate. This keeps the videos to a high quality, while keeping file sizes small enough to avoid compression once posted to Instagram.

TURN ON HIGH QUALITY UPLOADS
Go to Instagram settings and search data usage. You’ll be able to toggle on “High Quality Uploads” to ensure you’re not losing any detail in the process.

UPLOAD ON WIFI
Using a slow cellular network could cause issues with your upload. Sticking to a wifi network will ensure the highest quality upload with each post!
