Old Monk sells 13.8 million cases a year. I always thought — unbeatable.

I was wrong.

This bottle does close to 24 million. That's almost double. Started in 1854 — exactly 100 years before Old Monk was even born.

Meet Tanduay. The rum India never talked about.

Same soul as Old Monk. Different passport. Both cult. Both pocket friendly. Both brilliant with cola.

So I gave it the most Indian cola I could find.

Thumbs Up.

Nobody planned this pairing. It just made sense.

Wide glass. Ice. 45 ml Tanduay. Lime drops. Lime zest. Thumbs Up to top.

Sip 1: The rum leads. Warm, full, slightly sweet. 🥃
Sip 2: Thumbs Up kicks in — that sharp spicy cola bite only Thumbs Up has. ⚡
Sip 3: Lime ties it together. Clean finish. Dangerously easy. 😌

🥃 Whisky glass
🧊 Handful of ice
🥃 45 ml Tanduay Dark Rum
🍋 Few drops of fresh lime
🍋 Few strands of lime zest
🥤 Thumbs Up — to top

Build in glass. Rum over ice. Lime drops. Zest in. Thumbs Up slow pour.
Don't stir. Let the cola settle.
