This does NOT include anything we have in our taxable brokerage accounts for early retirement or in cash. This is solely our tax advantaged accounts (401k, HSA and Roth IRAs, we have never had access to a 457b or we would max that out too!). 

We did not get to aggressively invest and max out everything until < 4 years ago. But what I did build in my early 20s was the habit and consistency, for me that was my key to financial independence. I share this because I wish someone had told me this even earlier.

⁉️ What if the dollar isn’t the world’s reserve currency anymore? 
✨ Even if that changes, U.S. companies still make money globally. The dollar losing reserve status doesn’t mean the U.S. stock market disappears. I also believe in having a globally diversified portfolio. 

❓ “What if the market crashes?”
✨ Crashes happen but the market has always recovered. Over time, staying invested has always beaten panic-selling.

❓ “What about inflation?”
✨ That’s why I invest. Inflation will eat cash. The stock market has (historically) grown faster than inflation. 

❓ “How do you know you’ll make 7–10%?”
✨ That’s the historical average of the S&P 500 for the last 90+ years. I can’t beat the market long term, I’m just growing with it.
