This is a summary of what we personally spent in Patagonia. Keep in mind, you can make this trip much cheaper or turn it into a more luxury experience depending on what makes you happy.

I created this page because I’m equally passionate about personal finance and travel. I often see people visiting these incredible destinations but had trouble finding information on how much it actually costs. My goal is to provide financial transparency for the average traveler, especially those who aren’t traveling full-time—so you can plan your adventures with realistic expectations and budgets.

Totals -
Flights: $316 per person - miles were used to cover our flights to/from the US to South America minus fees. The $316 encompasses fees, flight to Puerto Natales and flight from El Calafate to Buenos Aires. We transferred miles to virgin during a transfer bonus period to maximize our miles usage!
W Trek: $458 per person
Trekking poles: $40
National Park passes: $136
Buses: $252
catamaran: $60
Accommodations: $754
Glacier Hike: $800
Food: $227

Total for 2 people: $3,817 or $1,908.5 per person

We spent an additional 3 days in Buenos Aires (highly recommend) and 3 days in Lima, Peru staying with family. Those costs are not included in this breakdown! 😊
