Floyd and Stephanie Rance are the visionary co-founders behind the Oscar®-qualifying Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (mvaaff). For over 30 years, they’ve poured love and legacy into the Vineyard, turning a shared dream into one of the most vital platforms for Black filmmakers in the country.

Floyd, a howard1867 trained cinematographer and director, has spent decades behind the camera shaping stories with purpose. Stephanie, a dynamic producer and marketing force, has elevated culture and conversation through her bold leadership. Together, through their company Run&Shoot Filmworks, they’ve welcomed thousands of creatives, executives, and icons to the island each summer.

From independent films to industry-shifting dialogue, the Rances have made the Vineyard a home for powerful storytelling and unforgettable community. They are true ICONS of impact, vision, and legacy.
