Stepping into Jen’s shoes for this scene was… wild.
She’s firm, blunt, sharp as a blade, and honestly? She does. not. care.
About anyone.
About their excuses.
About their feelings.
About their emotional life crisis happening across the desk.

Which is hilarious, because she’s literally the opposite of me.

When I was rehearsing, my acting coach actually said:
“Kyly, I need you to care less. You naturally listen, you pay attention, you genuinely want to help people find solutions… so you need to do the opposite of what you would ever do in real life.”

A compliment wrapped in a challenge — and I’ll take it.

So in this scene, Jen strides into Leslie’s office like she owns the building.
Leslie’s boss has booked an hour of her time — $1200 an hour, so every minute counts — and Jen makes it very clear that if they go one second over, she’ll happily sue and invoice for emotional inconvenience.

Direct.
Dry.
Zero fluff.
Zero patience.
Zero time for anyone’s nonsense.

But underneath the sarcasm and the soft slap to the face, Jen’s message is actually empowering:

Rise above.
Stop shrinking yourself to fit in.
Stop working at the level of the people around you.
Be the woman who climbs the ladder, moves forward, expands…
And then comes back stronger.
Not the girl who graduates high school and still hangs out in the car park.

Delivering that as someone who is, by nature, warm and highly tuned into others was challenging — but honestly, that’s the fun of acting. You stretch. You shift. You step into a different skin.
And then you walk out of frame and go right back to being yourself.

Scene done.
Jen out.
And me? I loved every second.
